Tip
Things you can ask
- "Which guests are waiting for my approval?"
- "How many guests from each company are coming?"
- "Create a 20% off coupon for early birds."
- "Draft an email to my VIP group and show me before it goes out."
- "Check in Maria Lopez at the door."
Before you start
You need four things:
-
An Epoch account that signs in with Google or your company login. If Epoch tells you your account signs in with a password, sign in to Epoch once with Google or your company login, then connect again.
-
A team admin or organization admin role in the organization you want your AI assistant to work in.
-
A plan that includes Connected agents. Connected agents come with Epoch's Starter plan and above.
-
An AI app that can add a connector by link, such as Claude or ChatGPT.
Connect in 4 steps
1. Copy your link. In Epoch, open your team's Integrations page and find the Connected agents section. Click Copy next to the link. If you have already connected an app, click Connect another app to show the link. Each organization has its own link. An example link looks like https://api.getepochx.com/mcp/o/<your-organization-id>.
2. Add it to your AI app. In Claude or ChatGPT, add a custom connector and paste the link.
3. Sign in. Your AI app opens an Epoch sign-in window. Sign in with your Epoch account.
4. Pick the team and access permission in Epoch. To begin your connection, ask your AI assistant anything. The first answer includes a setup link. On the Epoch site, go back to Integrations → Connected agents, find your app (it shows "Waiting to be set up") and click Use this team. Then choose what your AI assistant may do and click Save access. Epoch applies your choices to the AI assistant's next request.
For developers
The server uses MCP over Streamable HTTP (POST only, JSON responses, no streaming). Sign-in uses OAuth with dynamic client registration. Your app finds the sign-in server from the link and registers itself, so you don't need an API key or a client ID.
Claude Code:
claude mcp add --transport http epoch https://api.getepochx.com/mcp/o/<your-organization-id>
Then run /mcp to sign in.
Other apps that support remote MCP servers with OAuth sign-in can use the same link. Step 4 still applies.
Choose what your AI assistant may do
You configure access permissions for various areas of Epoch on your team.
For each area you can tick Read or Write, or leave it at no access.
Emails also has a Send emails to guests row.
Read access is enabled for every area by default. Customize your access permissions by selecting the level of access you want to grant to your AI assistant, then click Save access.
Enabling access permissions in one area may depend on the permissions of another area. For example, Write access in one area may require a certain access level in another. The screen will explain what's needed.
Your choices apply to every app you connect to that team. To change them later, click Change access.
| Area | What you can ask | Levels |
|---|---|---|
| Events | Find your events; save changes to event details and sessions as a site draft (also needs Site builder Write access) | Read / Write |
| Ticketing | List tiers, orders, coupons and access codes; check Stripe; create, copy, edit or remove tiers, coupons and access codes; turn ticketing on or off. Creating or editing a tier also needs Send emails to guests, because guests see ticket names. | Read / Write |
| Guests | See guests waiting for approval; approve, decline or promote guests; invite contacts; import a guest list; manage groups | Read / Write |
| On-site check-in | See the door list and check-in counts; check guests in, add walk-ups, undo a check-in, create and edit staff links | Read / Write |
| Emails | Review built-in emails, change their settings and text, send yourself a test copy, send emails to guests | Read / Write / Send |
| Contacts | Look up contacts and CRM records, build contact groups, add CRM notes, pull contacts from your CRM, see CRM deal outcomes after an event | Read / Write |
| Site builder | Create an event with its site, ask Epoch's site builder to build or change your page, preview it, publish it | Read / Write |
| Reports | Guest counts by company, title or group; feedback results | Read |
Asking Epoch's site builder to build a page also needs Write on Ticketing, Guests and Contacts, and Send emails to guests.
Epoch’s site builder agent can also create tickets, guests and contacts and send them emails.
Publishing a site also needs Send emails to guests.

Safety and control
-
It acts as you. Your AI assistant can do only what you can do in Epoch, on the one team you picked. It can't see other organizations or teams.
-
Some changes take two steps. To send an email to guests, change many guests' status at once, import a guest or group list, or publish a site, your AI assistant must show you a preview first. Only then can it apply the change. A preview expires after 10 minutes. A publish that removes guest data can be confirmed only by you, in Epoch.
-
Approving, declining, or promoting a guest sends guest the default communications in place. These take one step. Epoch sends each guest the email your event settings call for. To skip sending the communications for one decision, use the event's Guests page in Epoch.
-
Turn on approvals in your AI app. The remove, apply, guest action and undo check-in tools are marked as destructive, so your AI app can ask you before it runs them.
-
Guest text is treated as data. Names, answers and notes come from your guests. Your AI assistant gets them as data, never as instructions. Exercise caution when you use other connectors in the same chat.
-
Our logs hold calls, not content. Epoch's server logs record which tool ran and whether it worked, not the data it read. Epoch also keeps a record of each change your AI assistant asks for.
Disconnect
-
One app: go to Integrations → Connected agents and click Revoke on the app. If the app connects again, it waits for you to set it up, and it can't do anything until you do. To stop it for good, also remove the connector in your AI app.
-
Every app in your organization: an organization admin can turn off Allow connected agents in the same section. Turning it back on resumes every connection as it was.
-
If you lose your admin role on the team or the team is archived, the app goes back to waiting to be set up, and your access choices for that team are cleared.
Limits
-
120 requests per person and 600 per organization, every 10 minutes.
-
Lists return 25 rows per page.
-
Guest imports through your AI assistant take up to 3 MB. Import larger files on the event's Guests page.
-
One organization and one team per connection.
